A little about me

Hello there!
I’m Karolina, an architect currently based in the vibrant city of Tel Aviv. Originally hailing from Vilnius, Lithuania, where I earned my Masters degree in Architecture and Urban planning, my journey led me to Israel in 2017, where I quickly fell in love with the local architecture, particularly the iconic International (sometimes known as Bauhaus) style buildings in Tel Aviv.
Growing up, I was always absorbed in drawing. I remember eagerly seeking out drawing classes after school and weekends. However, as I transitioned into studying architecture, drawing somehow lost its sense of spontaneity and became more of a compulsory task rather than a source of joy...
Despite these changes, an urge to draw persisted within me. It took some courage to reignite my passion for drawing, fearing that I had lost the ability over time. Around a year and a half ago, I decided to pick up my tools again and start exploring different subjects to draw and paint. To my delight, it felt like my right hand remembered its old rhythms and movements with ease.

Today, I primarily work with traditional media - paper, watercolours (aquarelle), pencils, and more - as an homage to my background in academic drawing. As an architect with a keen eye for art, I find inspiration in the delightful play of colours and their harmonious combinations.
One of my favourite activities is observing buildings in various lighting conditions, seeking out intriguing shadows and unique geometries. The process of creating art, whether it's with a pencil, brushes, or watercolours on paper, brings me immense joy. I cherish the human touch apparent in artworks and deliberately retain pencil marks in my finished paintings, ensuring that the textured paper feeling remains present in my digitised prints.
I find immense joy in crafting decorative pieces that enhance the atmosphere of a home or space.
